Cookie policy

There is no cookie consent banner here, and that is not an oversight. Consent is required for cookies that are not strictly necessary — analytics, advertising, tracking. This site sets none of those.

The complete list is below. It is short.

Strictly necessary cookies

  • sessionid — keeps you logged in. Set only after you log in; an anonymous visitor never receives one.
  • csrftoken — protects forms against a request forged from another site. Without it the login and contact forms would be attackable.
  • django_language — records which language version you were last on. It is a record, never an instruction: the URL decides the page's language (/pl/, /de/, no prefix for English), not this cookie.
  • __cf_bm — set by Cloudflare to tell bot traffic from human traffic where that protection is on. Short-lived, and not used for profiling.

Browser storage (not cookies)

Your chosen colour theme is kept in localStorage under the key ometekTheme. That setting never leaves the device — it is not sent to the server, not attached to any request, and cannot identify anybody. Clearing site data simply restores the default theme.

What is not here

For the avoidance of doubt, because this is rarer than it should be:

  • no Google Analytics, and no other analytics either,
  • no advertising and no ad networks,
  • no Facebook, TikTok or similar pixels,
  • no Google Fonts — every typeface is self-hosted, precisely so a student's browser does not hand its IP address to a third party,
  • no selling or trading of data.

How to control it

Every browser lets you delete cookies and block new ones. Blocking the three necessary ones means login and the contact form stop working — there is no way around that on my side, because those cookies are the login mechanism.
